Senior Design Researcher
Job Summary
We're looking for a Senior Design Researcher to lead research for our Hardware business unit. This role requires a strong background in hardware and software research, experience connecting insights to design outcomes, and fluency with AI-assisted research tools.
About the role
This position is based in Lincoln, Omaha, Kansas City, Chicago, Austin, or Dallas. Remote candidates are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Lead research for hardware
- Use a mix of qualitative and quantitative methodologies across hardware and software contexts
- Guide cross-functional teams in creating research plans
- Mentor other designers and share best practices
- Leverage modern tools, including AI, to speed up synthesis and pattern recognition
- Collaborate and communicate with Product Managers and designers to right-size research objectives and present findings through compelling storytelling and clear metrics
Requirements
- Experienced in design research in tech environments with a proven track record of connecting insights to design outcomes
- Strong communicator with excellent visualization and storytelling skills
- Mastered research methodologies across hardware, software, consumer electronics, and hard goods
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally, to conduct research and collaborate with your team
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field
- Software experience with software product teams

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $112,000 - $187,000 USD. This role is also eligible for a long-term incentive (LTI) award.
