Senior Design Engineer
About the role
Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems Division is seeking a Senior Design Engineer who will provide technical leadership and product knowledge for legacy fuel system components such as fuel injectors, fuel pumps, and related fuel system technologies. The role involves resolving challenges related to component failures, supplier challenges, re-sourcing the supply base, product performance, and assembly and test support.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop strong product knowledge and a deep understanding of product function and performance characteristics to effectively lead product maintenance initiatives.
- Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
- Oversee the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
- Develop and document functional requirements and translate into detailed design documents.
- Participate in buy-build analysis for product components.
- Support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Research new materials and competitive products.
- Organize, coordinate, and execute the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
Education Requirement
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or Materials Science curriculum.

Summary
Pay Range: $112,710.00 - $169,060.00
