About the role
At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Design Project Manager to join our talented team at our office in Leawood, Kansas.
Responsibilities
- Holds primary responsibility for the achievement of scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives on assigned projects.
- Ensures achievement of corporate goals for assigned projects.
- Attends pre-bid meetings with clients and prepares proposals in conjunction with department heads, directors, and other key individuals.
- Independently develops Design budgets.
- Manages client interaction on assigned projects and promotes positive relationships.
- Identifies risks to the project and corporation and works with Project Executives and the Director of Operations to mitigate risks.
- Leads project teams of their own or led by others to a successful conclusion.
- Covers coordination with the project discipline lead to determine the scope, complexity, and planning and scheduling requirements of the projects.
- Develops and maintains meeting minutes and Action Items/Needs List for each project.
- Prepares internal monthly financial/schedule reports for the Director of Operations for each project.
- Prepares monthly financial/schedule reports for the Client as requested by the client.
- Manages all sub-consultants on the project.
- Aids in identifying and developing innovative methods for improving project management processes and techniques against current SOPs.
- Provides mentorship to all developing individuals within the project management group and the design disciplines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience in Project Management.
- Project Management Institute (PMP certification preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or planning.
- A minimum of 5 years of Pharmaceutical/GMP project experience.
- Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software.
- Understanding of Earned Value and other project control methods.
