Position Summary
This is a unique opportunity to help shape and build the future of the Member’s Mark design organization, making a meaningful impact on both the product and the team.
What you'll do
- Lead seasonal design direction and storytelling by overseeing sketches, presentations, and strategic narratives that clearly communicate the seasonal design development strategy across multiple categories or brands.
- Drive prototype development and fit intent by leading seasonal sample execution, guiding fit direction (balance, flattering fit), and ensuring high-quality prototypes with strong adoption.
- Elevate materials, color, print, and fabric decisions by innovating on materials and guiding color theory, print execution, and fabric choices to strengthen brand quality and fashion positioning.
- Translate trend and customer insights into commercial product by applying macro/cultural trends, competitor movement, and customer feedback (including trend platforms and performance signals) to build trend-right assortments that deliver quality at Walmart prices.
- Optimize design operations and delivery by managing seasonal timelines, coordinating cross-functional handoffs (tech packs, sampling, vendors), and leveraging PLM/CAD/3D and AI-enhanced tools to improve speed, accuracy, and design-to-cost outcomes.

What you’ll bring
- Senior-level apparel design expertise with a strong track record creating trend-right assortments, leading fit intent, and delivering high-quality product aligned to value and margin goals.
- Advanced visual communication skills including mastery of fashion sketching/illustration and the ability to craft compelling design narratives and presentations.
- Deep product development fluency across materials, fabric selection, color theory, print development, prototyping, and design-to-cost decisioning.
- Tool and workflow proficiency using design enablement systems such as PLM, CAD, workflow trackers, and 2D/3D outputs; ability to leverage AI and trend data to improve design speed and accuracy.
- Strategic trend and brand leadership with experience synthesizing macro/cultural signals, social listening and trend tools, and past-season performance into actionable design POVs and seasonal guides.

Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, textile design, or related area and 6 years’ experience in apparel design, garment construction, or related area.
- Option 2: 8 years’ experience in apparel design, garment construction, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to align design vision with business strategy.
- Experience managing design teams and seasonal calendars.
- Strong vendor and cross-functional collaboration experience.
Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
