Senior Design Engineer
About the Role
The Senior Design Engineer provides conceptual design for specific projects and supervises or directs the workflow of less-experienced engineers in performing HVAC or other system design and documents production for small and large projects.
Responsibilities
- Serves as design professional at project team design meetings.
- Prepares complex preliminary redline design layouts for estimating.
- Performs advanced calculations for projects, including heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, and friction loss calculations.
- Performs site inspections to ensure compliance with construction documents and resolves design issues during the construction phase.
- Supervises or directs the workflow of less-experienced engineers in HVAC or other system design and document production.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience.
- PE License required.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable systems design (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and a general understanding of system operations.
- Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, clients, and general contractors at all levels.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in CADD and Microsoft Office products, such as Excel.

Pay
Final pay is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Washington, the range is $126,541.00–$154,662.00 yearly plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program.
