Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and integration of complex aerospace systems and components from concept through production.
- Serve as the technical lead for small to mid-sized engineering projects, providing direction, prioritization, and oversight to project team members.
- Perform complex engineering calculations and simulations.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers by providing technical guidance, design reviews, and professional development support.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide critical feedback.
- Lead the design and development of complex aerospace systems and components.
- Carry out in-depth engineering analysis and optimization.
- Prepare and develop 3-D models, 2-D drawings, and other related technical documentation using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure project alignment.
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, qualification, and certification activities, resolving technical issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering processes, design quality, productivity, and innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5-9 years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects and mentoring junior engineers.
- Proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks and model-based design practices.
- Experience in Aerospace design and manufacturing processes.
- Experience interpreting and applying GD&T and aerospace engineering standards.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- A current US Security Clearance to the level of SECRET.
