About the role

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an exciting position in our sunny Scottsdale, Arizona location. The Restricted Ground suite of programs is seeking a Deputy Program Manager Engineering (DPME). The DPME will lead and manage the execution for a team and team of teams for multiple task orders. In this role you'll plan, authorize and monitor engineering work by managing a team of top talent. You'll ensure that the total system is integrated, tested and verified while keeping your team motivated and focused on project goals.   • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls for large complex programs

  • Be responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
  • Lead a group of engineers and technicians as assigned by the projects
  • Direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility
  • Be an advocate and facilitator of continuous process improvement and infrastructure change
  • Supervise and manage lower level employees
  • Lead regular communication with project customer, supplier(s), project team, and internal management
  • Deal regularly with support functions outside of project assignment
  • Serve as consultant to senior management and customers on long-range company planning
  • Effectively choose the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products
  • Leads medium to large proposals with identification of cross business unit strengths and technical shortcoming
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects
  • Can facilitate and coach across multiple teams
  • Solid grasp on how to scale Lean and Agile practices
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $152,462.00/Yr. - USD $169,138.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
