About the Role
The Senior Department Administrator will serve as a member of the Department of Pharmacy Practice executive leadership team, offering strategic administrative support and oversight to the department's operations. This self-directed professional will perform tasks aimed at maximizing departmental efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Leadership: Serve on the department’s Executive Committee, advising the Chair and other members on strategic departmental administration and operations.
- Supervision: Directly supervise all department staff, including developing performance plans, conducting annual reviews, creating professional development plans, workforce planning, overseeing telecommuting arrangements, and approving timesheets.
- Finance and Budget: Develop and advise the Chair on the annual department budget. Oversee fiscal operations, including managing all funding sources (State, UBF, and RF) and utilizing Uplan for the yearly budget process.
- Administrative Support: Maintain the Chair’s calendar; coordinate annual performance reviews for faculty; manage promotion and tenure reviews; and support faculty development and mentoring programs.
- Operations: Coordinate day-to-day department operations, recruitment, monthly meetings, purchasing, credit card management/reconciliation, Memorandums of Understanding, affiliation agreements, and event planning.
The Department Administrator collaborates closely with the SPPS Dean’s Office on resource planning, financial reporting, budget development, workforce planning, and implementing school and university policies.
