Senior Debt Analyst (Multifamily)

About The Role

An analyst team member responsible for analyzing property financials, performing underwriting tasks, creating loan submission packages, marketing debt and equity offerings, facilitating closings, and managing the origination team’s pipeline.

Uses financial and underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures associated with commercial real estate finance. Interacts with clients, lenders, vendors, and all parties involved in marketing and closing processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist producers in daily responsibilities including packaging, lender due diligence, negotiation process, commitment process, and closing process.
  • Gather and organize data on local, regional, and national commercial real estate markets using industry, regulatory, and economic information, financial publications, mortgage and lease documents, demographic data, property information, and company records.
  • Evaluate, interpret, and summarize gathered data to prepare analyses, statements, and reports for management review; arrange for graphics or illustrations to accompany research findings.
  • Create forecasts and analyze trends in commercial mortgage finance, general business, and industry conditions.
  • Connect with clients, lenders, government agencies, etc., to complete tasks.
  • Provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and training to coworkers.
  • Coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.
  • Manage the team’s pipeline to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Help prepare and oversee loan submission reports completed by the team for loan producer’s final review.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university; minimum two to five years mortgage banking experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Coursework or commensurate experience with real estate finance, appraisal principles, market analysis, and accounting.
  • Salesperson or real estate broker license preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly on the phone.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
  • Intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products including: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, and ability to conduct and perform various financial and underwriting tasks.
  • Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and timelines.
  • Responsible for setting own project timelines.
