The Opportunity The Senior Database Administrator position is responsible for supporting databases and servers which support mission critical applications within the firm. This position reports to the Lead Database Administrator and Data Center and Systems Engineering Manager and works as a contributing member of the Database Administration team. The Day-To-Day On Any Given Day, You Will Support and maintain all databases and servers for Microsoft and non-Microsoft database platformsEnsure availability of existing SQL and other operational databases by designing highly available systems available from multiple data centersMonitor, tune and manage scheduled tasks, backup jobs, recover processes, alerts, and database storage needs in line with firm change control proceduresPerforms fault diagnosis, troubleshoot, and correct problems at the database and application performance levelWork in a team environment within the database administration team as well as with other Technical Service Group teams and other departments within the firmProvide regular reports on performance and stability of database environment, identifying coming needs proactively to ensure continued reliable serviceWork with other teams and departments architecting database backend to support new solutions as required for project and operational tasksDocument, develop, test and implement updates to database systemsWork outside of regular business hours as required for project or operational work You Have A bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of five years' work with Microsoft SQL server and windows server senior level administration experience.Expertise with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL ServerExpertise with Azure SQL and other cloud based database servicesAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities What We Provide Seyfarth provides competitive salary and benefits at all levels, and our culture embraces the entrepreneurial spirit of its professionals like no other firm.
