Senior Database Administrator

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to support databases and servers that power mission-critical applications within the firm. This role reports to the Lead Database Administrator and Data Center and Systems Engineering Manager and works collaboratively within the Database Administration team.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain all databases and servers for Microsoft and non-Microsoft database platforms.
• Ensure availability of SQL and other operational databases by designing highly available systems across multiple data centers.
• Monitor, tune, and manage scheduled tasks, backup jobs, recovery processes, alerts, and database storage in line with firm change control procedures.
• Perform fault diagnosis, troubleshoot, and resolve issues at the database and application performance level.
• Collaborate within the database administration team and with other Technical Service Group teams and departments.
• Provide regular reports on database performance and stability, proactively identifying future needs to ensure reliable service.
• Architect database backends to support new solutions for project and operational tasks in collaboration with other teams.
• Document, develop, test, and implement updates to database systems.
• Work outside of regular business hours as required for projects or operational needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of senior-level administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server.
• Expertise with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Expertise with Azure SQL and other cloud-based database services.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
