About the role

Take your database expertise to the next level by owning technology that matters! As a Senior Database Administrator in Hoffman Estates, you'll have the opportunity to work across Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, tackle complex performance and security challenges, and influence the design of enterprise-class database environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, design, develop, and deliver enterprise database solutions while owning day-to-day SQL environment operations.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, including tuning and proactive issue resolution.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Server, Storage, Networking, Security, and Applications teams on backup, recovery, and multi-year database strategy.
  • Plan, organize, and track functional tasks, projects, and project-based initiatives while ensuring timely delivery.
  • Monitor, track, and escalate database incidents through the Service Desk and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience administering SQL environments
  • Strong understanding of SQL clustering, availability groups, and standalone architecture
  • Ability to work with teams to identify, troubleshoot and remediate a variety of SQL problems including locking/blocking, indexing issues, and capacity review/tuning

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Idera is a plus

Pay

The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $145,000. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
