Senior Data/Visualization Engineer

JCS Solutions LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data/Visualization Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining informative dashboards and reports using Power BI and MicroStrategy to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that support business strategy, decision-making, and IT Operations sustainment for Department of War (DoW) networks and systems.

Responsibilities

• Dashboard Development - Design, build, and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and dossiers using Power BI and MicroStrategy
• IT Operations Support - Identify, extract, and analyze relevant data specifically in support of IT Operations and system sustainment initiatives
• Data Integration & ETL - Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from disparate structured and unstructured data sources to prepare it for analysis and visualization
• Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with business leaders and IT decision-makers to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical visualization specifications
• Data Analysis - Interrogate and analyze complex datasets to uncover critical trends, patterns, and insights that support strategic initiatives
• Optimization & Quality Assurance - Validate data accuracy, troubleshoot reporting anomalies, and optimize dashboard performance for end-users
• User Enablement - Provide guidance, documentation, and training to end-users on how to effectively interact with and interpret the visualization tools
• Documentation & Standards - Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures, and data dictionaries in support of delivered products
• Compliance & Documentation - Ensure all tools comply with DoW STIGs and IL5/IL6/IL7 protocols; develop and maintain architectural documentation and compliance traceability

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
• 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience (additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree)
• Active IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, or SSCP)
• Proven professional track record in data analysis, business intelligence, and building data visualizations for enterprise use
• Familiarity with IT Operations and sustainment, including a strong understanding of how to identify and apply relevant data to support these functions
• Experience with data extract, transform, and load (ETL) techniques using disparate structured and unstructured data sources
• Advanced hands-on experience with Power BI (including DAX and Power Query) and MicroStrategy (including Dossiers and standard reporting)
• Strong command of SQL and experience querying complex relational databases and data warehouses
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical data findings clearly to non-technical audiences
• United States Citizenship
• Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required at time of hire

Skills

• Familiarity with Python or R for advanced data manipulation and statistical analysis
• Relevant industry certifications in Power BI (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) or MicroStrategy
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and advanced semantic layer modeling

Pay

The general salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $105,000.00, based on factors such as location, qualifications, and applicable contract terms.
