About the role

We are seeking a leader to drive the future of growth at Ramp. This individual will define analytical frameworks and strategic roadmaps for optimizing and scaling Ramp's marketing investments across various brand channels. They will work closely with marketing, finance, and engineering teams to enhance data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Employ statistical, machine learning, and econometric models on large datasets to evaluate channel performance and determine the causal impact of marketing and sales campaigns on a complex enterprise sales cycle.
  • Build attribution models and investment frameworks to guide Ramp's future brand channel investments, enabling efficient scaling and understanding of audience segments' reactions to messages.
  • Collaborate with Martech, Business Systems, and Growth Engineering teams to integrate and leverage data from various sources, ensuring comprehensive insights for every decision.
  • Drive experimental design and implementation on new channels and areas of Ramp, focusing on marketing spend aimed at increasing brand awareness, consideration, and equity.
  • Contribute to the data team culture by influencing processes, tools, and systems that facilitate better, faster, and more scalable decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields with at least 5 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Strong Python experience (numpy, pandas, sklearn, etc.) for exploratory data analysis, predictive modeling, and marketing-specific applications of ML techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL (preferably Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift) for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Proven leadership skills and a history of delivering improvements in growth and product organizations.
  • A deep understanding of the marketing experimentation lifecycle, including hypothesis generation, experimental design, implementation, statistical analysis, and A/B testing best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing attribution, martech, and the modern privacy landscape.
  • Experience at a high-growth startup, familiarity with B2B enterprise sales cycle metrics and processes, and expertise with the modern data stack (Fivetran / Snowflake / dbt / Looker / Hex / Hightouch or equivalents).
  • Familiarity with data orchestration platforms (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and data science engineering development cycles (data modeling, version control, documentation + testing, best practices for codebase development).
