About the Opportunity
The Senior Data Scientist role involves designing and deploying advanced machine learning solutions across various industries. This position serves as a technical leader within project teams by mentoring colleagues and influencing the direction of ML initiatives. The role is crucial for advancing the organization's ML capabilities and delivering impactful solutions to clients.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, prototype, and build state-of-the-art ML models tailored to solve diverse, complex client use cases
- Deploy and serve machine learning models at scale using managed cloud ML platforms and microservices-based, containerized Python solutions
- Collaborate closely with Data and DevOps engineers to implement models into production pipelines and enforce rigorous MLOps best practices
- Preprocess, clean, and perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) on large-scale datasets while establishing high data quality standards
- Participate actively in deep technical architecture discussions to promote shared engineering learning and continuous methodology improvements
- Communicate complex mathematical, statistical, and ML concepts clearly to both technical engineering teams and non-technical business stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressive professional experience in machine learning with a proven track record of deploying models into production environments
- Deep domain expertise in at least one specialized ML area, such as predictive modeling, computer vision, or large language models (LLMs) and generative AI
- Advanced programming proficiency in Python and SQL, alongside solid experience managing code via Git; supplementary knowledge of R or C++ is beneficial
- Hands-on familiarity with both managed cloud ML services (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or Google Vertex AI) and containerized deployment technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong foundational understanding of core machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling techniques, and complex mathematical optimization
- Master's (M.S.) degree in a highly quantitative field (such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics) or equivalent practical engineering experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills suitable for consulting and client-facing collaboration
- Must maintain legal and physical residency within the United States or Canada
Pay Range and Compensation Package
The target baseline salary framework is $140,000.00 to $180,000.00 USD annually. Final base salary placement within this tier is calibrated dynamically based on the candidate's specialized modeling depth, MLOps expertise, physical location, and internal equity frameworks. Additional variable compensation components may vary based on geographic location, advanced skills, and individual performance metrics.
