Senior Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise scale cloud data platforms within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable, and production ready infrastructure that enables modern data processing and analytics solutions across development, test, and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, deployment, and ongoing management of AWS based data platform infrastructure.
• Hands on expertise with Databricks administration and platform management.
• Experience supporting AWS data services including EMR, Glue, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, EC2, and EFS.
• Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data engineering and platform support activities.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Knowledge of AWS networking, security, encryption, IAM roles, secrets management, and access controls.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support processes.
• Understanding of data governance, metadata management, data cataloging, and storage integration.
• Experience with disaster recovery, backup strategies, platform resiliency, and high availability architectures.
• Establish and enforce security, performance, and cost optimization standards.
• Experience working with AI assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Self starter who can work independently and take ownership of platform operations and improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting cloud-based data platforms, infrastructure engineering, or related data engineering environments.
• Strong experience designing, deploying, and supporting AWS based data platform infrastructure.
• Hands on expertise with Databricks administration and platform management.
• Experience supporting AWS data services including EMR, Glue, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, EC2, and EFS.
• Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data engineering and platform support activities.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Engineer, or AWS Certified Developer is preferred but not required.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $108,300.00 - $154,300.00.
