Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary client contact and commissioning authority on assigned projects
- Lead commissioning strategy for complex and multi-system projects from pursuit through warranty
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and technical credibility
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks, scope gaps, and technical issues
- Develop commissioning scopes of work, schedules, and fee estimates for proposals and active projects
- Lead design phase reviews including OPR, BOD, plans, and specifications to ensure commission ability and performance alignment
- Facilitate OPR workshops and commissioning planning meetings as required
- Oversee development of commissioning plans, test procedures, and documentation, including: Pre-Functional Checklists (PFCs), Functional Performance Tests (FPTs), Integrated Systems Tests (ISTs)
- Perform and/or oversee site observations, system testing, and issue resolution
- Lead commissioning meetings and ensure accurate documentation and follow-through
- Maintain accountability for project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Collaborate with Project Accountants to support accurate invoicing, forecasting, and financial performance
- Partner with the Cx Project Coordinator to maintain project plans and resource alignment in Vision
- Ensure project execution aligns with contract scope, safety requirements, and internal quality standards
- Provide technical guidance and quality oversight for commissioning staff
- Mentor and support the development of junior and mid-level commissioning providers
- Contribute to the refinement of commissioning standards, tools, templates, and best practices
- Support internal training and knowledge sharing initiatives
- Lead development of commissioning reports and systems manuals
- Facilitate warranty walkthroughs and ensure documentation is updated accordingly
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant commissioning, construction, or facilities experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading complex commissioning projects independently
- Project Management certification preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- Building Commissioning certification preferred
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety and NFPA-70E preferred
