About the role
A premier global enterprise is actively seeking a highly skilled data professional to act as the technical anchor for their platform engineering team. In this role you will design, modernize, and secure a massive analytical estate while bypassing legacy systems to build native cloud solutions. This is a hands-on architectural role where you will partner directly with business leaders and shape the strategic direction of an enterprise-wide integration initiative.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with cross-functional technical teams and corporate business leaders to translate complex requirements into scalable, AI-ready data products.
- Act as a player-coach, actively writing Python and SQL while mentoring internal data engineers and providing strong architectural guidance without direct people management duties.
- Design and deploy configuration-based ingestion frameworks and robust ELT/ETL pipelines across batch and real-time streaming workloads.
- Architect and optimize modern Lakehouse structures ensuring strict adherence to Medallion-style layering standards.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing CI/CD automation, declarative Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and stringent data governance controls.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- 10 to 12+ years of overall progressive experience in a data-related technical role.
- At least 5 years of proven experience architecting modern solutions specifically within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric ecosystems.
- Deep, hands-on expertise building scalable data pipelines using Advanced SQL and Python/PySpark.
- Demonstrated success applying DevOps practices, version control, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Exceptional corporate maturity and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present to and align with executive business leaders.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Prior experience architecting data integrations for major enterprise resource planning (ERP) or CRM system rollouts.
- Hands-on experience implementing enterprise data governance tools.
- Background in the heavy industrial or construction sectors.
