Senior DAC Architect and Lead
About the role
The DAC architect and development lead will focus on high‑performance digital‑to‑analog converters. The successful candidate will work directly with customers to understand requirements and will lead the development of high‑performance transistor‑level designs from initial specification through design, layout supervision, silicon evaluation, characterization, and final product introduction to market.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to define product requirements and address their needs.
- Lead the design of high‑performance DACs, including transistor‑level circuit creation.
- Supervise layout activities and ensure compliance with advanced CMOS processes.
- Evaluate silicon on bench, using standard lab equipment for characterization.
- Drive designs through to production and market introduction.
- Create and adhere to project schedules while working independently.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with geographically distributed teams.
- Proactively seek assistance when needed and share knowledge with colleagues.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in high‑performance analog or mixed‑signal IC development using advanced CMOS processes.
- Deep familiarity with high‑speed, high‑resolution ADC or DAC data‑converter design techniques.
- Proven track record of taking designs to production.
- Experience designing building‑block circuits such as bandgap references, op‑amps, comparators, oscillators, DLLs, PLLs, etc.
- Strong intuitive and analytical understanding of transistor‑level circuit design, including noise and mismatch analysis.
- Ability to evaluate silicon on bench and use standard laboratory equipment.
- Experience with analog and digital behavioral modeling or synthesis of digital control blocks.
- Ability to work independently, create and adhere to schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skills
- Proficiency with Cadence schematic capture, Virtuoso, Spectre and/or HSPICE simulation tools.
- Familiarity with layout parasitic extraction tools and layout‑dependent impairments in advanced CMOS processes.
- Understanding of electromigration and ESD compliance in submicron CMOS processes.
- Knowledge of MATLAB (preferred but not mandatory).
