Senior ADC Architect and Lead
About the role
ADC architect and development lead focusing on high‑performance analog‑to‑digital converters. The successful candidate will work with customers to understand requirements and will lead the development of high‑performance transistor‑level design from initial specification, through design and layout supervision, silicon evaluation and characterization, to final product introduction to market.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to define product requirements and address their needs.
- Lead the design of high‑performance ADC/DAC data converters and related building‑block circuits (bandgap reference, op‑amp, comparators, oscillators, DLL, PLL, etc.).
- Supervise layout creation and ensure compliance with electromigration and ESD requirements.
- Perform silicon evaluation, bench testing, and characterization.
- Guide designs through to production and market introduction.
- Create and adhere to project schedules while working independently.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with geographically distributed teams.
- Proactively seek assistance when needed and share knowledge with colleagues.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in high‑performance analog or mixed‑signal IC development in advanced CMOS processes.
- Thorough familiarity with high‑speed, high‑resolution ADC or DAC design techniques.
- Proven track record of taking designs to production.
- Experience designing high‑performance building‑block circuits such as bandgap references, op‑amps, comparators, oscillators, DLLs, PLLs, etc.
- Ability to work with customers to define products that address their needs.
- Experience evaluating silicon on bench and using standard lab equipment.
- Strong intuitive and analytical understanding of transistor‑level circuit design, including noise and mismatch analysis.
- Experience with analog and digital behavioral modeling and/or synthesis of digital control blocks.
- Familiarity with designing circuits for electromigration and ESD compliance in submicron CMOS processes.
- Knowledge of layout parasitic extraction tools and layout‑dependent impairments in advanced CMOS processes.
- Ability to work independently and manage schedules.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Cadence schematic capture, Virtuoso, Spectre and/or HSPICE circuit simulation tools.
- MATLAB (preferred but not mandatory).
- Analog and digital behavioral modeling.
- Silicon evaluation and bench‑testing techniques.
