Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite Monday through Friday, day shift hours) – long-term contract.
About the role
As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will join the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT), a specialized group responsible for detecting, managing, and neutralizing security breaches, malware outbreaks, and active cyber-attacks.
Responsibilities
- Detect and respond to cybersecurity incidents in real time.
- Analyze logs and network traffic to identify threats and anomalies.
- Contain, eradicate, and recover from security breaches.
- Document incidents thoroughly and contribute to post-incident reviews.
- Develop and refine incident response plans and playbooks.
Skills & Qualifications
- SOAR automation experience.
- Python or Yara L scripting knowledge.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools and their use for investigations and response.
- Ability to differentiate between SPAM and phishing emails and investigate appropriately.
- Knowledge of endpoint detection and threat intelligence platforms.
- Understanding of malware analysis, phishing tactics, vulnerability exploitation, and MITRE.
- Experience implementing NIST SP800-61.
- Prior experience in system administration, digital fraud, or digital forensics is a plus.
