Senior Custodian ( Nights = 10:00pm - 6:30am ) - 139997

Responsibilities

• Participate in the overnight cleaning of the Price Center and Student Center facilities managed by University Centers (Campus Student Union).
• Sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum indoor and outdoor areas of the facilities.
• Extract, shampoo, and spin bonnet carpets.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, pick up trash, empty trash, operate trash compactor, and perform other assigned duties related to maintaining facility cleanliness.
• Operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, high‑pressure washers, carpet cleaning machines (spin bonnet, shampoo, extract, pile‑lift), wet/dry vacuums, extractors, and floor scrubbing/polishing machines during cleaning, stripping, waxing, buffing, and related operations.
• Submit daily shift summary reports; submit work orders for items needing maintenance or custodial attention.
• Secure buildings and equipment when not in use.
• Restock paper, soap, and other cleaning supplies.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs of custodial equipment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience performing skilled custodial duties.
• Demonstrated experience operating, storing, and maintaining the following equipment: vacuums, buffers, wet/dry vacuums, rotary carpet shampooers, steam extractors, high‑pressure washers.
• Demonstrated experience in floor care; stripping, waxing, and buffing.
• Demonstrated experience in carpet care; spot cleaning, spin bonneting, shampooing, and extracting.
• Demonstrated experience securing facilities, including responsibility for keys.
• Ability to read and interpret written information and instructions, including daily operations reports integral to performing reservable space cleaning.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to prepare written reports and complete forms.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively work with a diverse group of students, staff, faculty, and customers.
• Must be able to safely lift, move, and carry a minimum load of 75 lbs.
• Must be able to safely operate University Centers vehicles (cart, pickup truck, one‑ton stake‑bed truck).
• Regular work schedule is 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, Monday through Friday; must work occasional flexible, variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Background check required.
• Must use proper safety gear as necessary.
• Must be able to safely lift, move, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 75 lbs.

Pay

Hiring Pay Scale: $26.69‑$33.18 per hour. Annual Full Pay Range: $55,729‑$69,280 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Schedule

Regular work schedule: Nights, 10:00 pm – 6:30 am, Monday‑Friday. Occasional flexible, variable hours may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
