About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Trial Attorney to join its growing civil litigation practice. This position is ideal for a highly skilled litigator with significant courtroom experience who is confident managing complex cases from inception through verdict. The ideal candidate has a proven record serving as first chair at trial and is looking for an opportunity to handle sophisticated litigation while playing a key role in the continued growth of the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a full civil litigation caseload from intake through trial and appeal, as necessary.
  • Serve as first chair in jury and bench trials.
  • Develop case strategy and oversee all phases of litigation.
  • Take and defend depositions, including expert witnesses.
  • Draft and argue dispositive motions and other substantive pleadings.
  • Conduct mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and support staff to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys when appropriate.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license and good standing with the AZ state bar.
  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated first-chair trial experience is required.
  • Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience handling high-exposure or complex civil litigation matters.
  • Proven record of successful trial outcomes.
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills are a plus.
