Senior Counsel REMOTE

About the role

The Senior Counsel enables Leica Biosystems’ global business strategy by serving as the lead legal advisor ("mini-GC") for two or more of the company’s business units and related support functions. This role delivers legal guidance across a broad range of complex issues in a dynamic, multinational environment, with a focus on driving business transformation and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver legal guidance across a broad range of complex issues in a dynamic, multinational environment, with a focus on driving business transformation and innovation.
• Provide practical, solution-oriented approaches to a broad range of complex legal issues and risks, then write and negotiate agreements addressing those issues and risks.
• Partner with specialist attorneys and other professionals, including external counsel, on IP, employment, regulatory, compliance, M&A, joint venture/strategic partnership, and other matters.
• Manage commercial and other disputes, including litigations.
• Help the legal and compliance team identify, design and implement continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Support matters for other Danaher operating companies in the Diagnostic/IVD and Life Sciences markets.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 6+ years of experience with complex commercial and corporate transactions, including 3+ years of experience in a large law firm transactional practice.
• Excellent writing and contract drafting skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate and work effectively with associates at all levels of the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in the diagnostic/IVD industry.
• Experience in the medical device industry.
• Experience with healthcare regulation, including fraud and abuse (e.g., anti-kickback), FDA and CE/IVDR for medical devices, and data use and privacy (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

Skills

• Ability to travel – approximately 15% or less (flexible).

Pay

The annual salary range for this role is $210,000 to $250,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

Schedule

This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement in which you can work remotely from your home.
