Job Overview

The Senior Counsel, Global Compliance, Competition & Trade reports to the General Counsel—Global Compliance and is part of the Legal Advocacy and Governance (LEAG) Global Compliance team. The role supports the design and implementation of the Company’s global antitrust and trade compliance programs, providing practical, risk-based advice and embedding best-practice controls across commercial activities.

Responsibilities

  • Antitrust, Sanctions and Export controls Strategy & Governance
    • Support development and implementation of global antitrust strategy, policies, procedures and internal controls
    • Advise on enforcement trends and regulatory developments
    • Ensure alignment with DOJ and SEC expectations, including interpretation of enforcement standards and legal risk positioning
  • Sanctions & Trade Compliance
    • Develops the global sanctions compliance program and processes, monitoring, and escalation protocols
    • Advise on restricted parties, embargoes, export controls, and trade risks from a legal enforcement and liability perspective
    • Ensure compliance with OFAC and other global sanctions regimes, including licensing and reporting
    • Maintain sanctions policies, procedures, and internal controls ensuring legal defensibility under applicable enforcement regimes
  • Risk Assessment & Advisory
    • Supports M&A and transactions on antitrust aspects
    • Embeds controls into commercial processes
    • Develops guidelines and escalation protocols
    • Designs and implements antitrust and sanctions compliance controls and audits
  • Training & Awareness
    • Delivers risk-based training programs
    • Monitoring & Enforcement
    • Maintains awareness of global trends and advises on risks
    • Supports regulator interactions and investigations

Requirements

  • 8+ years antitrust experience
  • Law firm or multinational in-house experience (both preferred)
  • Antitrust and Trade Controls expertise
  • Cross-border and commercial advisory experience
  • Analytical Judgment: Strong ability to assess complex antitrust risks and provide clear, practical solutions
  • Business Acumen: Understands commercial drivers and translates legal requirements into workable business solutions
  • Execution: Delivers high-quality work with strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Collaboration: Builds effective relationships across functions and geographies
  • Communication: Clearly explains complex legal concepts in a concise and actionable manner
  • Integrity: Demonstrates high ethical standards and professionalism

Total Rewards

  • Salary Range: $183,500 - $250,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
