Senior Counsel - Commercial
About the Role
The Senior Commercial Counsel provides legal advice and support to business leaders across the Supply Chain organization of GE Vernova’s Power segment. This role is ideal for a business-minded attorney who collaborates effectively at all organizational levels and has a strong track record advising on complex commercial agreements and strategy.
You will partner with other legal groups and cross-functional business teams to develop strategy, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of Supply Chain-related agreements, support disputes and claims, develop and implement training, improve processes, and provide risk assessment and compliance support.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to senior leaders on Supply Chain matters.
- Offer legal analysis and support for supply chain, procurement, logistics, and customs transactions, including structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex domestic and international purchase contracts and software licenses.
- Advise on contract interpretation, claims, and disputes.
- Use Lean thinking to streamline processes and reduce cycle time, including developing standard templates and policies.
- Identify and advise on regional, portfolio, and transactional risks and mitigation strategies.
- Lead projects supporting business and supply chain initiatives.
- Provide counsel on antitrust/competition law, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, environmental and customs issues, and other regulatory and compliance matters.
- Develop and deliver training on legal, contract, and compliance topics.
- Stay current on legal developments affecting supply chain activities.
- Communicate across all levels of the organization and work cross-functionally to drive business priorities.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- At least 8 years of post-admission legal experience in a law firm or in-house.
- Fluency in English (additional languages a plus).

- Strong legal acumen and substantial experience drafting, negotiating, and closing complex commercial or financial transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve legal issues quickly and make on-the-spot risk calls.

- Law firm or in-house experience in one or more of the following areas: commercial, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, corporate, or corporate finance.
- Familiarity with legal technology, CLM systems, and AI tools in contracting and legal operations.

Pay
For candidates applying to a U.S.-based position, the pay range is between $176,300.00 and $293,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
