The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Property Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its growing Insurance Coverage practice. This position offers the opportunity to work with a nationally recognized team handling complex property coverage matters, policy analysis, coverage opinions, and insurance-related litigation. The role offers significant flexibility and can be based in Texas, California, Washington, or New York. Depending on location and team preferences, attorneys may work on a hybrid schedule of two days in the office and three days remotely, while some candidates may also be eligible for a fully remote arrangement. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys looking to deepen their insurance coverage expertise while working on sophisticated matters for leading insurers and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze insurance policies, claims materials, and coverage issues.
- Draft detailed coverage opinions and recommendations for clients.
- Advise clients regarding property insurance coverage disputes.
- Conduct legal research and analysis utilizing Westlaw and other legal research platforms.
- Prepare correspondence and client-facing communications.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
- Manage written discovery and document analysis.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop strategic solutions for complex coverage matters.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar admission in good standing; California licensure strongly preferred.
- Prior insurance coverage experience required.
- Strong understanding of property insurance coverage matters.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client matters simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader team.
- Solid academic credentials and/or demonstrated professional success.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with experience:
- Associate: $160,000 - $190,000
- Senior Associate: $185,000 - $225,000
- Senior Counsel: $220,000 - $260,000+ monthly and annual bonus
