About the role
Invesco is a leading independent global investment firm dedicated to providing a wide range of investment strategies and vehicles to clients worldwide. This role supports the Assistant General Counsel, U.S. Product Strategy & Governance, and the broader U.S. Legal team.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice relating to Invesco’s investment products, including publicly listed REITs, ETFs, mutual funds, closed-end funds, and other pooled vehicles.
- Support product development, structuring, and distribution with strong Securities Laws capabilities across the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, and Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
- Advise on securities innovation and evolution topics, including capital markets tokenization, stablecoin ecosystem, and digital asset offerings.
- Draft, review, and maintain offering documents, registration statements, and related disclosures as well as necessary memoranda to applicable governing bodies in support of product proposals.
- Engage and maintain strong relationships with governing bodies across various product lines.
- Partner with Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders to support regulatory and disclosure-related obligations.
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to Product and business leaders, contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Build effective working relationships across Legal, Compliance, Finance, and business teams.
- Provide practical, solutions-oriented advice that balances legal risk with commercial priorities.
- Support and lead cross-functional initiatives as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership required.
- 6–12 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment.
- Strong experience across Securities Laws disciplines.
- Exposure to governance, disclosure, or board-related work is beneficial but not required.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and contribute to complex decision-making.
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to translate complex legal issues into practical guidance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence.
Pay
The salary range for this position in Downers Grove is $220,000 - $235,000 base/year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Schedule
This role is full-time.
