Senior Cost Estimator
About the role
Lochner, an Egis company, is recruiting for a Senior Cost Estimator with 10+ years of diverse estimating experience. Transit agency and transportation project experience with a focus in rail, highway and aviation. Lochner joined Egis, a global infrastructure consulting, engineering, and operations firm, expanding our capabilities while preserving the values and culture that define who we are.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates at the preliminary, intermediate, final, and release-for-construction stages of design.
- Review estimates prepared by consultants and contractors.
- Prepare cost estimates for analyzing value engineering studies.
- Auxiliary in constructability reviews.
- Support negotiations for settling contract change modifications and potential claims.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 10 or more years of estimating experience
- Diversified experience in transportation projects with emphasis on rail, highway and aviation
- Transit agency owner costs experience preferred
- Experience with estimating software (HCSS Heavybid preferred)
- Professional Certifications preferred
- Familiarity with FTA (Federal Transit Administration) guidelines and funding requirements
- Proficiency In Industry-standard Estimating Software (such As HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam or similar tools)
- Strong Understanding Of Construction methods and materials
- Project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM/GC, PDB)
- Transit project components and systems

Physical Requirements
