Senior Cost Estimator

About the role

Lochner, an Egis company, is recruiting for a Senior Cost Estimator with 10+ years of diverse estimating experience. Transit agency and transportation project experience with a focus in rail, highway and aviation. Transit agency owner costs experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates at the preliminary, intermediate, final, and release-for-construction stages of design.
• Review estimates prepared by consultants and contractors.
• Prepare cost estimates for analyzing value engineering studies.
• Auxiliary in constructability reviews.
• Support negotiations for settling contract change modifications and potential claims.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10 or more years of estimating experience.
• Diversified experience in transportation projects with emphasis on rail, highway and aviation.
• Transit agency owner costs experience preferred.
• Experience with estimating software (HCSS Heavybid preferred).
• Professional Certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with FTA (Federal Transit Administration) guidelines and funding requirements.
• Proficiency In Industry-standard Estimating Software (such As HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam or similar tools).
• Strong Understanding Of Construction methods and materials.
• Project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM/GC, PDB).
• Transit project components and systems.
