Responsibilities

• Reviewing proposal drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimate or bid
• Preparing discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work by CSI Division
• Maintaining files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, prices lists, etc.
• May review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials
• Performing additional assignments per supervisor’s direction such as constructability review, plan, and specification coordination

• Construction strategy development (developing competitive means and methods)
• Design to Cost estimating (check pricing) during design on DB projects
• Subcontractor interface and relationship building
• Subcontractor research and vetting
• Market and vendor research
• Bid package development
• General requirements estimating
• Subcontractor negotiations
• Change order estimating
• Time impact analysis estimating
• Construction cost estimating for work required by the Federal Government
• Conceptual estimating
• 30/60/90/IFC design cost estimating
• Parametric estimating techniques as well as experience
• Construction cost consulting on market conditions

Education and/or Experience

• This position prefers a four-year degree, preferably in architecture/engineering or construction management and minimum of fifteen years’ experience.
• Experience with MS Office products required. Advanced skills with Excel is a plus.
• Experience with on screen take-offs or estimating software such as Plan Swift is a plus.
• Experience with BIM 360 is a plus.
• Experience with commercial off the shelf estimating software a plus.
