Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant who can partner with Operations, Engineering, and Leadership to drive better business decisions through data-driven insights and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations leadership to analyze business performance and profitability.

• Identify trends, opportunities, and risks impacting margins and operational performance.

• Develop reporting and analysis that supports data-driven decision making.

• Help prioritize improvement opportunities across the business.

• Maintain the standard cost system.

• Analyze product costs, margins, and inventory valuation.

• Support cycle counts and annual physical inventory.

• Manage inventory reconciliations and excess/obsolete reserve calculations.

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements.

• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.

• Support audits and compliance requirements.

• Maintain strong internal controls and financial discipline.

• Partner with leaders across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams.

• Drive alignment toward business and financial goals.

• Help improve processes, reporting, and overall business performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.

• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.

• Minimum of 4 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, product costing, and financial analysis.

• Oracle experience strongly preferred; experience with large-scale ERP systems required.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to build strong partnerships across multiple functions.

• High level of accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting

• CPA preferred

• 7+ years of accounting experience

• 4+ years of cost accounting experience

• Strong GAAP knowledge

• Oracle experience

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to build strong partnerships

• High level of accountability, attention to detail, and accuracy
