Senior Cost Accountant

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate product costing, including COGS, inventory, and overhead
• Analyze cost variances and identify root causes
• Monitor material, labor, scrap, and production performance costs
• Provide clear, actionable insights to support operational decisions
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement efforts
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking cost targets
• Support inventory control processes, including cycle counts and reconciliations
• Ensure strong cost controls and audit readiness
• Publish with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams
• Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance leaders
• Support cost modeling and quoting activities (with development over time)

Requirements

• Academic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Required Skills & Experience: Strong analytical mindset, operational curiosity, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, communication skills, intellectual honesty

Qualifications

Strong understanding of: Standard costing, Variance analysis, Inventory and cost accounting principles, Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
