Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Maryland, on-site Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday Build People is representing a global, family-owned manufacturer with over a century of operating history in the US and distribution worldwide. They are hiring a Senior Cost Accountant to own cost accounting methods, reporting and analysis across the business. What You Will Do Conduct cost analysis to identify and evaluate cost saving opportunitiesAnalyze production costs, variances and performance against targetsPartner with cross functional teams on budgets and forecastsMonitor and report on variances with clear explanations and recommendationsPrepare timely and accurate cost accounting reports, and present findings and KPIs to managementOversee inventory valuation and reconciliationIdentify and implement process improvements across the cost accounting functionEnsure compliance with accounting standards and support internal and external auditsDevelop cost estimates for new products and evaluate the profitability impact of cost changesWork with operations and procurement to gather information and provide financial insight for decision making What We Are Looking For Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field4 to 7 years of progressive cost accounting experience, ideally including a senior roleStrong grounding in accounting principles and cost accounting methodologyProficient in standard costing, inventory valuation and variance analysisAdvanced Excel, plus experience with an ERP or accounting systemManufacturing or multi entity experience preferredComfortable working independently and as part of a team What Is On Offer Medical, dental and vision cover for you and your familyBonus programs401K retirement planTuition reimbursement and trainingPaid vacation, PTO and holidaysGym reimbursement and more Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
