& Knowledge 10+ years of relevant experience designing and developing enterprise-grade Java-based systems 10+ years of hands-on experience with Core Java, Java 17/21/25 LTS, Jakarta EE (J2EE), Spring Framework 7 and Spring Boot 4.x Experience developing RESTful services and working with medium-to-complex distributed systems Experience with event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka and IBM MQ Experience with relational databases, SQL, PL/SQL, and schema versioning tools such as Flyway or Liquibase Experience implementing secure, scalable and resilient enterprise applications Experience with Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines Strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies Experience working with distributed teams across time zones Required Technical Skills Strong knowledge of modern Java language features, JVM internals, garbage collection tuning and performance profiling Proficiency in Java 25 preferred, Core Java, Jakarta EE (J2EE), Spring Framework 7 and Spring Boot 4.x Expertise in REST API design, OpenAPI/Swagger and high-performance service communication Strong knowledge of JPA 2/3, Hibernate 6 and HikariCP connection pooling Experience with Spring Security 6+, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT-based authentication, RBAC and ABAC Knowledge of Apache Kafka partitioning, consumer groups, idempotency, transactional outbox patterns and IBM MQ Experience with Oracle or equivalent databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL Experience with Redis, MongoDB and Elasticsearch, with awareness of vector databases such as Pgvector Familiarity with Spring AI, large language model (LLM) integration and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows is an advantage Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Devin and Cursor Experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, AssertJ, Cucumber/Gherkin and Testcontainers Knowledge of contract testing tools such as WireMock and Spring Cloud Contract Experience with IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse, Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, Maven/Gradle, JIRA and SonarQube Experience with Docker multi-stage builds, Kubernetes deployments, development best practices Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java-based backend applications Build scalable RESTful services using Core Java, Spring Framework and Spring Boot Develop and maintain event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka and IBM MQ Design and optimize database schemas, SQL queries and PL/SQL procedures Implement secure authentication and authorization using Spring Security and modern security standards Apply resilience patterns, caching strategies and performance optimization techniques Develop automated unit, integration and contract tests to ensure software quality Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding productivity, code review and development workflows Build, deploy and maintain containerized applications using Docker, OpenShift and Kubernetes Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and application observability Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews and iterative delivery Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and maintainable software solutions Additional Details Assignment duration of 1 year with potential conversion to a permanent role Candidates must
