About the role

The Senior Copywriter, Brand at Tilt is responsible for crafting compelling and distinctive brand and campaign copy. This role requires a writer with a genuine creative voice to define and protect how Tilt speaks across all surfaces, from brand narratives to direct response copy.

Responsibilities

  • Own Tilt’s voice: Sharpen the brand’s voice, set a high bar for craft, and ensure all written content sounds clear, human, and unmistakably Tilt.
  • Create brand copy: Write clever, warm, and relatable copy that moves people and sets the standard for great writing.
  • Concept to campaign: Generate big ideas and ensure campaigns feel whole and inevitable by blowing out central concepts across various channels and formats.
  • Tell the long story: Lead long-form narrative projects that build trust, clarity, and emotional connection with the audience.
  • Drive growth through language: Write direct response copy for ads, email, and performance channels that convert without sounding forced.
  • Build the system: Design and refine AI-assisted copy workflows, including writing prompts, style guides, and frameworks to stay on-brand while producing great work at scale.
  • Collaborate across the creative org: Work closely with designers on campaign concepting and brand development to ensure writing and design move together, not in parallel.
  • Shape creative practice: Influence how the team develops creative standards, reviews work, and pushes the bar higher.
  • Make financial language feel human: Write clear, emotionally intelligent copy that builds trust and respects people, especially those who are hardworking.

Requirements

A voice that's all your own: Developed a genuine creative point of view over your career, with a distinctive, alive, and never overwrought writing style.

Conceptual mind: Campaign ideas for days, able to think strategically and generate strong creative platforms.

Brand experience at depth: Worked on brand identity or rebrand projects and understood capturing a company's spirit in language and holding it consistently across every touchpoint.

Long-form narrative range: Confident in writing both 12-word taglines and 1,200-word brand stories, knowing when each is right.

Performance copy fluency: Fluent in writing for direct response channels, understanding the rhythms, clarity requirements, and accountability to outcomes without sacrificing voice.

Systems thinker: Able to document what makes writing work and build frameworks that help others write better, including AI-assisted tools.

Deep collaborator: Thrives in creative feedback loops, takes critique as fuel, and invests in the team's work as much as your own.

Clear presenter: Can walk a room through a creative rationale and make people feel the rightness of a choice, not just understand it.

Agency and/or in-house experience: Navigated real-world timelines, stakeholders, and constraints without compromising on quality.
