Job Summary

Prepares food to ensure it is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable federal, state, local and company standards, guidelines and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director.
  • Prepares various entrees and menu items following established recipes.
  • Operates and cleans equipment after each use. Performs scheduled routine cleaning.
  • Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy. Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
  • Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
  • Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
  • Aids Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and completes all required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned.
  • Aids in the cross training of employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Fixed Pay Rate

$22.00 per hour.

About the Role

We are hiring immediately for full and part time SENIOR COOK positions. Location: Houston Catering - 1201 Oliver Street, Suite #104, Houston, TX 77007. Note: online applications accepted only. Schedule: Full and part time; Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Event, weekend, and holiday open availability is required. More details upon interview. Requirement: Four years of catering experience is required. Previous off-site catering experience is preferred. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of catering experience. Previous off-site catering experience is preferred. Must abide by all Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: the use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer. The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables. The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.

Skills

Must have strong organizational and communication skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to follow detailed instructions and work under pressure. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay
