Responsibilities
- Lead Automation solutions from initial design to implementation and commissioning of CM&U solutions.
- Define and validate the Scope of Work (SOW) created for the project in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in Internal Kick Off Meetings.
- Participate in Customer Kick Off Meetings and customer design reviews as necessary.
- Review existing P&IDs and revise as necessary to align with the SOW.
- Design control system architecture, including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and system integration strategies.
- Develop IO Tool Kit (Ranges, Alarms and Trip Setpoints) file as a base for executing the SOW.
- Develop Bills of Material (BOM) and release to procurement.
- Support Change Order development as required by changes in the SOW.
- Develop user manuals, control system specifications; and Cause & Effect and Control Narrative documentation.
- Architect, develop, and validate PLC and HMI programs using established standards and best practices.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Test as required by SOW.
- Generate and maintain FAT documentation including project punch list.
- Provide technical leadership during commissioning and start-up, resolving complex system issues.
- Model and champion ProEnergy core values in ways that center team culture on these values.
- Exercise independent judgment in the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of complex control systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for control systems, influencing technical decisions across projects.
- Abside by and promote the ProEnergy HSE policy.
- Occasionally required to work nonstandard hours including evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required; advanced knowledge of control systems engineering principles with various functional mechanisms such as the science and methodology of loop tuning and control systems configurations is essential.
- Minimum experience of 10 years in gas turbine operations and control, or 15 years in various industrial process control software and systems.
- Must be fluent in English, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum experience of 8 years in field service engineering.
- Familiarity with various industrial control programming and system design (Rockwell, GE, Woodward, Ovation, etc.).
- Familiarity with GE and non-GE aeroderivative and heavy-duty gas turbines core programming, sequencing, and process instrumentation.
- Retrofit or upgrade experience using multiple industrial platforms.
- Solid understanding of programming environments and languages.
- HMI development skills.
- Technical competence in industrial networks and communication protocols.
- Working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving ability and adept at communicating with several levels of the organization.
- Able to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-starter mindset and constant engagement in developing new skills.
- Track record of handling steep learning curves and exhibiting a can-do attitude.
- Must work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Proven history of long cycle control system projects.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
