About the role

RedCloud seeks a Senior Controls & Industrial Network Engineer to support immediate client operations. This role focuses on global operational technology (OT) network architecture standardization, OT network security initiatives (isolating critical network infrastructure from physical OT equipment), and hardening SCADA and industrial cybersecurity infrastructure across mission-critical data center facilities worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • OT Network Architecture & Security Decoupling: Architect and standardize technical designs for OT Network Decoupling programs, external IDF, wall-mountable enclosures, and dual-sourced DC power systems. Design high-density fiber topologies.
  • Supply Chain & Lifecycle Management: Manage end-of-sale hardware lifecycles; evaluate, test, and validate 1:1 hardware switch alternatives (Cisco, Arista, Juniper).
  • Port Mapping & Network Integration: Author canonical, single-source-of-truth port mapping procedures and allocation matrices for regional deployments. Enforce site naming standards, VLAN/IP schema isolation, and downstream SCADA integration rules.
  • System Reliability & SCADA Hardening: Develop zero-downtime firmware upgrade and rollback procedures for industrial Ethernet switches (Cisco IOS-XE, Moxa). Resolve complex network integrations using Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP).

Requirements

  • Background in control systems, network engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data center OT or industrial control networks.
  • Network & Hardware Mastery: Deep technical expertise with industrial ethernet switches (Cisco Catalyst IE series, Arista, Juniper, Moxa), fiber optic distribution (MTP/MPO, LC, FOSE), and industrial power systems (110–125 VDC dual-sourced arrays).
  • Protocols: Technical understanding of Layer 3 IP routing, VXLAN, BGP, EIGRP, REP, PRP, and STP.
  • SCADA Infrastructure: Understanding of BACnet (BBMD, MS/TP) and Ethernet/IP gateways.
  • Industrial Cybersecurity: Experience evaluating and integrating passive Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) and enforcing network segmentation between OT devices and core network assets.
  • Tools & Documentation: Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), network drawing reviews, structured port mapping tools, and technical documentation.
  • Legal ability to work in the United States; RedCloud does not provide visa sponsorship.
