We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead or contribute to detailed hardware and software design for process automation control systems projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide application/control systems design and development for systems of varying complexity.
  • Develop and evaluate alternative system solutions that meet stated requirements.
  • Modify program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems.
  • Develop proficiency in several programming languages and control device networks for PLCs, PCs.
  • Interact with customers to understand their business environment, define scope, plan, and deliver assigned work.
  • Work successfully in a team environment, focusing on customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Travel at least 30% and visit local sites as needed.
  • Appreciate documentation and planning aspects of engineering in a regulated environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Min 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Consulting experience.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting control systems and understanding of process controls.
  • Ignition Perspective experience.
  • Rockwell experience with products such as: ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PlantPAx, Factory Talk Software Suite, Studio 5000, PLC5, SLC500, RSView, PanelView Plus, etc.
  • Other PLC platform experience (GE, Siemens, Modicon).
  • Other SCADA and HMI package experience (Proficy and Wonderware).
  • Experience implementing detailed control system electrical design packages.
  • Working knowledge of control system networks (Ethernet, Modbus, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Data Center experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Chiller plant programming.
  • Instrumentation experience.

Pay

$110K - $150K

Location: Preference for candidates local to Santa Clara, CA; remote candidates within the U.S. who can travel up to 30% and be onsite as needed will also be considered.
