Senior Contracts Administrator
Responsibilities
- Draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual instruments.
- Apply expert-level knowledge of contracting concepts, the Uniform Commercial Code, public contract acquisition law and regulations, and relevant international contract law.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Cook up and manage contract volume in support of major or complex proposals.
- Review complex domestic, international, and commercial proposals for compliance with RFP requirements, with emphasis on identifying and mitigating proposal and execution risk.
- Draft and revise contract language, including terms and conditions, in response to RFP requirements.
- Determine appropriate flow-down provisions for subcontracts and material procurement.
- Lead and support negotiation activities, including serving as negotiation lead for less complex efforts and acting as “closer” on more complex negotiations as required.
- Utilize independent judgment and creativity to resolve complex contract issues.
- Prepare complex contractual documentation for review by legal counsel, business units, and corporate stakeholders.
- Participate in and contribute to process improvements and work instruction development prior to implementation.
- Collaborate effectively with senior corporate leadership, customer and supplier executive management, and public agency executives.
- Develop and support competitive proposal development efforts.
- Provide mentorship, training, and technical guidance to less experienced contracts professionals, supporting skill development within the function.
- Communicate results clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Travel up to 25% annually, both domestically and internationally.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or a Master's degree/JD with 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to draft modified/revised language for terms and conditions in response to an RFP.
- Working to expert knowledge of contracting concepts, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement).
- Demonstrated proactive contract management experience.
- Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.
- Strong presentation, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or a Master's degree/JD with 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional certification (CCCM, CFCM, CPCM).
- Experience working with U.S. Government international customers.
- Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
- Familiarity with Oracle, SharePoint, and JIRA.
- Experience mentoring or training junior contracts professionals.
