Responsibilities

  • Write, produce, shoot and edit weekly news branding promos
  • Edit news opens (shoot if needed)
  • Work collaboratively with Creative Services team on concepts and execution of branding promos, weekly franchise topicals, POPs, POBs and all other news promos
  • Ensure workflow from concept to delivery for all on-air elements
  • Continually conceive and maintain idea bank for future implementation
  • Interact with internal and external peers and/or managers to exchange information related to assigned activities
  • Collaborate with creative news teams daily to ensure accurate on-air messaging
  • Absorb and assist in the marketing of the station through other on-air and outside media
  • Absorb and assist with station sponsored events as needed

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in broadcast or video production (on-air promotion preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to write compelling promo copy
  • Ability to comprehend news copy and turn it into an effective marketing message
  • Be a team player and able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Advanced non-linear editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Advanced knowledge of Canon DSLR cameras and videography, motion graphics and creative lighting techniques
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with newsroom personnel in a productive, professional, and effective manner
  • Extensive shooting and scripting of both short and long form content
  • A strong understanding of fundamental design, sense of color, typography and composition
  • Advanced knowledge of the post-production process, including media management and encoding video to various formats
  • Ability to maintain a variety of projects and work with varying production styles
  • Ability to maintain digital assets, archives and edit systems
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Interest in local news, government, and politics is helpful
  • Ability to routinely lift, carry and move equipment more than 40 lbs.

Qualifications

College degree in TV journalism, communication, marketing is preferred
