Join the Red Hat Services team as a Platform Technology Senior Consultant and deliver hands-on technical solutions that solve client business challenges. You’ll promote the adoption of Red Hat’s solutions, leveraging your technical expertise and interpersonal skills to guide customers in building scalable, optimally managed platforms. This role requires a balance of solid technical experience, open-source awareness, and enterprise-level problem-solving. Candidates must be willing to travel 30-40 weeks per year to client locations across North America and hold an Active Top Secret clearance, residing in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Responsibilities

  • Guide customers in building scalable, adaptable solutions using Red Hat technologies.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new skills and technologies.
  • Travel weekly (Monday-Thursday) to client locations, including those outside your local area.
  • Lead technical projects, collaborate on timelines, and maintain project and technical documentation.
  • Identify stakeholder needs and set expectations for project scope and timelines.
  • Work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Mentor others and share technical expertise.
  • Apply hands-on expertise in Zero Trust frameworks to architect and implement security controls.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior IT and business executives, including presenting to C-level stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering implementations based on architectural designs.
  • Ability to lead technical projects and maintain documentation.
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams and with stakeholders.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science or a technical discipline.
  • Experience leading modern cloud platform consulting engagements.
  • Linux system administration experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative.
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite for deploying and managing RHEL systems.
  • Experience with Identity Management technologies (e.g., Red Hat Identity Manager, Microsoft Active Directory).
  • Technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, AWS, Microsoft Azure).
  • Experience in one or more vertical industries.
  • Track record of advising senior IT and business executives, including C-level presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Onboarding and Growth

After joining Red Hat, you’ll undergo an intensive customized training program on Red Hat technologies and Services solutions:

  • Within 2 months: Prepare to join a project team by learning to build production-ready solutions integrated with enterprise systems, enhancing consulting skills through expert-led enablements and certifications, and collaborating within Red Hat Services and the broader organization.
  • Within 6 months: Support Services as a technical lead by delivering customer projects, developing project plans aligned with Red Hat’s technologies, and expanding your knowledge and network through enablements, communities, and meetups.
  • Within 12 months: Demonstrate technical leadership by implementing complex, large-scale solutions in customer environments and actively engaging in knowledge-sharing with internal and external communities of practice.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $130,420.00 - $215,300.00, based on qualifications. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
