Responsibilities

  • Create a positive team member experience
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities
  • Demonstrate full understanding of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios
  • Build awareness and understanding of jurisdictional rules and filing requirements
  • Collect, review, and fully understand client-provided data
  • Inspect properties and prepare appropriate reports as deemed necessary by management
  • Analyze assessment notices and determine potential assessment reductions
  • Apply software knowledge to efficiently work with client data
  • Possess knowledge in assessment review, appeal determination, tax bill administration, and the three valuation approaches: cost, sales comparison, and income
  • Handle appeals and monitor the appeals process
  • Attend client status calls and meetings, providing supporting data and findings for the leadership team
  • Work effectively with clients by taking an interest in their industry and inquiring about trends and processes
  • Participate in recruiting efforts
  • Interact and communicate effectively with team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management, Public Administration, MIS/Entrepreneurship, International Business, or other degree with MBA, MST, or JD
  • Candidates with appropriate valuation designations preferred
  • One to three years of property tax-related experience
  • Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Valid driver’s license required

Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong people skills

Schedule

This position requires in-office attendance two days per week, typically Tuesday and Thursday. More time may be required during training or busy season. Independent travel requirement: minimal regional travel (less than 10%) for meetings with the County in late summer/early fall.

Pay

Ryan will reimburse for parking or a transit pass.
