Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Consultant to support state energy agencies, regulators, and other public-sector organizations as they address critical challenges related to clean energy, grid modernization, affordability, infrastructure planning, and program implementation.
About the role
Senior Consultants lead defined workstreams, develop analyses and deliverables, guide junior team members, and help clients make informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead assigned project tasks or workstreams by coordinating activities, managing priorities, tracking progress, and delivering high-quality work products.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses related to energy policy, programs, operations, infrastructure, markets, and public-sector investments, translating complex information into actionable findings and recommendations.
- Develop client-ready presentations, reports, analyses, and other deliverables that support client goals and decision-making.
- Collaborate with project teams, client counterparts, and subcontractors to advance workstream objectives, address risks and issues, and support successful project delivery.
- Participate in client meetings, workshops, interviews, and working sessions, communicating effectively with stakeholders and escalating broader project issues as appropriate.
- Build productive working relationships with clients and colleagues through strong communication, preparation, and follow-through.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and first-level review for junior team members and subcontractors assigned to the workstream.
- Support project administration activities, including schedules, deliverable tracking, action-item management, and project documentation.
- Support proposal development, market research, pursuit activities, and identification of client needs or follow-on opportunities.
- Monitor developments in energy policy, funding, regulation, and procurement relevant to clients and priority accounts.
- Contribute to thought leadership, knowledge assets, recruiting, onboarding, training, and other practice-building initiatives.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years of experience in consulting, government, energy, utilities, public policy, sustainability, infrastructure, data analytics, program operations, or a related field
- Experience managing assigned workstreams, conducting analysis, and developing client-facing reports, presentations, or other deliverables
- Strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative consulting environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams
- Ability to travel as required (up to 25%)

Qualifications
- Experience supporting government agencies, public authorities, utilities, regulators, or mission-driven organizations
- Familiarity with NYSERDA, NYPA, the New York State Public Service Commission, New York utilities, or related organizations
- Experience in energy, clean energy programs, infrastructure, sustainability, or regulated industries
- Experience supporting program implementation, PMOs, grants management, policy analysis, or business-development efforts
- Graduate degree and/or relevant professional certification
Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $107,000.00-$178,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
