Responsibilities

  • Assist Managers and Partners in engagement management of clients
  • Conduct financial due diligence on middle-market companies in various industries
  • Work directly with client leaders and alongside private equity firms, strategic clients, and investment banks to perform buy-side and sell-side due diligence and other M&A tax activities
  • Conduct analytical reviews of data and prepare findings
  • Create draft reports for management review
  • Research issues that arise during the course of engagement
  • Build relationships with existing clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
  • Master’s degree in Taxation or JD with LLM in taxation preferred
  • CPA or licensed attorney preferred; if not, must meet educational requirements to obtain CPA or attorney license in state of employment upon hire
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience required, preferably with a public accounting firm or law firm
  • Previous experience in tax due diligence and merger and acquisitions tax consulting preferred
  • The ability to analyze complex business and transaction situations
  • The ability to work on multiple engagements simultaneously and learn new business quickly
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong presentation skills and marketing abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client locations up to 50%

Pay

The pay rate range for this job position is $84,000 to $164,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
