Senior Consultant, Business Valuation (ABV or CVA required)
About the role
Candidates will primarily be responsible for preparing business valuations engagements from inception to draft stage. This includes managing document requests/production, valuation models, report templates, site visits, and client interactions. Involvement with damages and other financial forensic engagements may be an option, if interested. This position has the potential to develop the qualifications for expert testimony, if desired.
Candidates should be commutable to Phoenix, Arizona on a hybrid basis or open to relocating to Phoenix.
Responsibilities
- Prepare business valuations engagements from inception to draft stage
- Manage document requests and production
- Develop and maintain valuation models and report templates
- Conduct site visits and interact with clients
- Analyze large data sets and simplify/translate into visual formats (e.g., create graphs of gross profit by zip code, compare company to benchmarks over time, contrast revenue per employee to benchmarks)
- Draft expert reports and other client communications
- Reconcile and check work from multiple perspectives (e.g., foot/cross-footing of schedules, goal seeking, compare cash receipts per bank statements to reported revenue)
- Research industry, economic, and benchmark data and apply to subject companies

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Business valuation certification (e.g., CVA, ASA, ABV, CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Proficient with Excel and Word
- Effective organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects/cases to meet fluctuating deadlines under pressure with incomplete information
- Detail-oriented with strong written and analytical skills
- Ability to research professional business valuation journals and stay familiar with current trends, techniques, and court rulings
Preferred Qualifications
- General understanding of economic damages and income taxes
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, IDEA/ACL, Tableau, and other data sources (e.g., RMA, DLOM databases, CapIQ, Able2Extract)
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to travel as needed

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000. Any offered salary range is based on factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, and management responsibility.
