About the role

Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. We offer comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services, covering areas such as valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. The team works closely with clients at every stage of their journey, helping them navigate challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and implement practical solutions before, during, and after major transformational projects or transactions creating lasting impact.

As a professional in our business valuation practice you will have an opportunity to gain valuable experience working with leading valuation specialists to help our clients understand, analyze, and respond to various business opportunities and challenges.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant on the Valuation & Modeling team, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing financial reporting valuations for business combinations, including purchase price allocations, enterprise values, intangible assets, and legal entities
  • Supporting goodwill and indefinite-lived and long-lived asset impairment analyses for financial reporting purposes
  • Conducting valuations for tax purposes across federal, state, local, international, and personal tax matters, including tax purchase price allocations
  • Assisting clients with business plan development, strategic investment decisions, and other financial objectives through valuation analyses
  • Preparing valuations for derivative securities, debt instruments, employee stock option plans, and regulatory or compliance purposes

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business
  • 4+ years of business valuation and intangible asset valuation consulting experience
  • Experience applying cost, market, and income valuation approaches and methodologies, including discounted cash flow, guideline public company, guideline transaction, excess earnings, relief from royalty, with-and-without, comparative sales, replacement cost, and capital asset pricing model methodologies
  • Experience building financial models to value common stock, business entities, and intangible assets, and conducting client, economic, industry, competitor, and ratio analyses
  • Experience preparing and reviewing valuation reports, exhibits, letters, and other client deliverables; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience supervising, training, and developing junior staff and assessing performance
  • Ability to travel 30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

  • Fair Value experience
  • Master's degree in Finance
  • ASA, CFA or CPA

Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,000 to $188,400. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
