Senior Construction Project Manager (Oversight)

This role supports a Senior Owner’s Advisor in the successful planning, execution, and completion of collaborative delivery (CMAR/progressive design-build) projects by acting as a liaison between the project owner and various stakeholders. It is client-focused and assists in ensuring the project aligns with the owner's vision, goals, and objectives while adhering to budget, schedule, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessments and guidance regarding client/owner organizational readiness and preparation for collaborative delivery understanding, planning, development, and execution.
• Advise on the merits of various project delivery methods and support procurement best practices.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on best practices for collaborative delivery (design-build methodologies and CMGC/CMAR).
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• Develop, customize, and quality-check RFQ and RFP documents for procurement activities.
• Support owners/clients in performing reference checks during RFQ and RFP submittal reviews.
• Manage and negotiate contracts effectively while adhering to organizational norms.
• Develop strategic implementation plans for new projects and programs.
• Guide owners/clients in design-builder contract compliance and services during construction.
• Analyze and manage project risks, developing and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Utilize industry expertise to evaluate and provide recommendations for clients.
• Plan and schedule projects strategically, including monitoring progress.
• Support project planning and scheduling to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
• Adapt and execute additional assignments based on evolving needs.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and knowledge-sharing to less experienced team members.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
• Prior experience managing medium-complex projects.
• Experience implementing collaborative delivery methods and best practices.
• Experience in contract management and negotiation.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Strong knowledge of project/program management techniques.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Skilled in contract management and negotiations.
• Experience with project delivery in the municipal and private sectors, preferably in water and wastewater.
• Ability to develop strategic implementation plans and manage procurement documents.

Pay

Anticipated starting pay range for this position is $126,000 - $172,000, based on the employee’s primary work location, skills, experience, and education.

Schedule

Hybrid work schedule, with three days per week onsite in Washington, DC.
