Senior Construction Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the creation and management of project strategic plans and program initiatives to meet the needs of the owner.
  • Act as the owner's advisor, responsible for all phases of project management.
  • Manage the overall planning, design, and construction process and coordinate all activities related to design and construction.
  • Guide clients through the complexities of design and construction, incorporating ownership priorities into design, construction logistics, and sequencing, as well as managing the architecture and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with the architect, contractor, and other project team members to meet project objectives and resolve issues.
  • Negotiate, draft, and execute contracts.
  • Coordinate and direct budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost, and construction functions related to project completion.
  • Lead and oversee the work of the project manager to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Manage the overall project budget and schedule, reporting to the project team and client on a regular basis.
  • Lead proposal review, leveling, and analysis, presenting to the client.
  • Select and negotiate business terms for all consultants and vendors, including preparing RFQs/RFPs, researching and comparing firms, and recommending optimal business terms.
  • Manage the closeout process.
  • Develop and maintain beneficial business relationships with owners, architects/engineers, and subcontractors for business development and marketing.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field is highly preferred.
  • Eight (8) or more years of project management experience in construction-related fields, specifically on ground-up hospitality, multi-family, and/or school projects is required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of discretion and responsiveness in working with ultra-high-net-worth clients.
  • Proficient in PC-based scheduling and spreadsheet applications, including MS Project and Excel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in areas such as project management, design management, estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, field supervision, financial reporting, client relationships, and management of projects valued between $50 and $100 million.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as business presentation skills.
  • The ability to effectively interface with all levels of management and staff across organizational lines, including other client business units.
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success in building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.
