Senior Construction Project Engineer
About the role
Hughes Marino is a nationally recognized, award-winning corporate real estate advisory firm specializing in representing occupiers, never landlords. Our Program, Project & Construction Management practice serves as owner's representative and third-party PM for some of the most dynamic companies in the country, guiding clients through complex projects with independent, conflict-free expertise. We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Project Engineer to join our Irvine team, engaged in an exciting long-term opportunity supporting a confidential, high-growth defense technology client.
Responsibilities
- Support senior PMs in managing proposals, drafting meeting minutes, contract creation, and client reporting documents
- Aid in the creation and ongoing updates of project budgets and schedules
- Manage document control, change order processing, monthly invoicing, TI allowance reimbursement, and project closeout in coordination with project managers
- Day-to-day involvement across multiple concurrent, complex construction projects
- Interface directly with Hughes Marino PMs, clients, and brokers on evolving project requirements
Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer
- Experience with tenant improvement projects required
- Hands-on experience with invoice processing, schedule and budget creation and updates, and meeting minutes required
- A strong tendency toward leadership and a solid understanding of the design, permitting, bidding, construction, and closeout process
- Highly proficient in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Project
- A sharp communicator, both written and verbal, comfortable interfacing with senior stakeholders
- A self-directed and deadline-driven individual with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt quickly to shifting priorities

Local candidates only: South Los Angeles and Orange County
Benefits
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience ranging from $80,000-$110,000

- A Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
